The short version
Your claim lives on your device by default. The claim you build here — your address, your carrier, your conversation, your documents list — is stored in your own browser, not on our servers. Nothing about your claim reaches our servers unless you take a specific action that says so, and this page lists every one of those actions.
We never sell your data, and we never share it with insurance carriers, adjusters, advertisers, or affiliates without your explicit consent.
What stays on your device
The claim draft, the advocate conversation, the list of documents you have declared, letters you draft, and your language preference are stored in your browser's local storage. We cannot read them from our servers. Two consequences worth knowing:
- Anyone with access to this browser profile could see them — which is why every screen has the “✕ Leave site” button (see below).
- Clearing your browser data, or using a different device, means starting over unless you created an account or synced your claim.
What reaches our servers, and when
Each of these happens only when you take the named action:
- Creating an account. Your name, email address, and a password (stored hashed by our accounts service). Signing in sets one session cookie that expires after 60 minutes.
- Saving your claim to our servers / joining the review cohort. When you explicitly say yes on those consent screens, we send the claim facts you confirmed — name and contact details if you gave them, loss date, county, property address, carrier, policy number, damage type — to our claims service, which creates a claim record. If you never say yes, this never happens.
- Requesting analysis. The advocate conversation and the analyses (coverage, damage classification, deadlines) are produced by sending the text you type to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing. ClaimRestored does not train AI models on your data.
Documents you upload
When you upload a policy declaration page, the file is read into memory, sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to extract the policy fields, and then dropped. We do not write the file to disk and we do not retain the bytes on our servers. The extracted fields are returned to your browser, where they are stored on your device like the rest of your claim.
Data sources we query about your property
To build the property reveal, we look your property address up in public and commercial data sources — county property records, census data, FEMA disaster declarations, NOAA/National Weather Service records, Google Street View imagery, flood and rental-market data. Your address is shared with those services for the lookup; that is what a lookup is. We do not send them your name, your claim, or your conversation.
“✕ Leave site” — the quick exit
Every screen has a “✕ Leave site” button, built for people using a shared or monitored device. Tapping it immediately clears everything this product stored in this browser, replaces the browser history entry, and sends you to weather.gov. That local sweep is instant and unconditional.
If your claim was saved to our servers, the same tap also asks our servers to erase it, and revokes any device-handoff links. An honest limitation: that server-side erase can only succeed while your session is still live (sessions last 60 minutes) and the device is online at that instant. If either fails, the server copy remains. If that happens — or any time you want a server-side record erased — email support@claimrestored.com from the address on the claim and we will erase it and confirm.
Device-handoff links
If you move your claim to another device with a handoff link or QR code, that link is single-use and expires within minutes. Both the quick exit and starting a new claim revoke all outstanding handoff links for the account.
Analytics and logs
- Product analytics, when enabled, record funnel events (for example “reveal viewed”) with a random session identifier. They never carry your name, address, email, carrier name, or any dollar figure.
- Our server logs are metadata-only by rule: no names, email addresses, phone numbers, or property addresses enter the log stream.
What we never do
- Sell your personal information.
- Share your claim with carriers, adjusters, advertisers, or affiliates without your explicit consent.
- Email you marketing. Today the only email this product sends is account email (verification, password reset).
Deletion — your choices
- This device: “✕ Leave site” clears everything instantly. Starting a new claim also clears the previous claim from the device (your language preference survives).
- Our servers: the quick exit requests erasure of a synced claim as described above; or email support@claimrestored.com and we will erase server-side records and confirm.
If there is a breach
If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you within 30 days, consistent with Florida's Information Protection Act (Fla. Stat. §501.171), including what was affected and what to do next.
